Many of us are fortunate enough to have loving pets at home and we consider them members of our family. For the first time, Dawson Group became a proud sponsor of the B.C. SPCA Fur Ball, in an attempt for more pets to find homes in our community.
The Fur Ball is an annual event that travels throughout the Interior, where hundreds of pet enthusiasts enjoy a heart-warming evening of food and entertainment, while raising money to support animals in need.
Along with being a major sponsor of the event, Meghan Swannell (Administrative Assistant), her mother and Braelyn Gerhardt (HSE Advisor) volunteered in the Cuddle Lounge – a fenced off area with plenty of puppies, where ticket holders could enjoy spending some time prior to the event.
“We had a great night of fun both in the Cuddle Lounge – we were the hit of the party with the puppies!” said Swannell. “10-out-of-10, I would definitely go and support this event again.”
The evening of entertainment, which featured dinner, guest speakers and a silent auction, raised more than $108,000 for the Kamloops SPCA.
The SPCA was also thrilled to receive a few adoption applications throughout the evening as well.
“Thank you, Dawson Group, for supporting our lovely event and sending volunteers to help throughout the evening. It was greatly appreciated,” said Nicole Green, SPCA Senior Officer, Community Giving.
