Dawson Group strives to help create an environment where everyone can feel inclusive and welcome.

That is why we are encouraging our employees and community members to engage in a new, city-wide event created to raise awareness around inclusivity and accessibility for those with diverse abilities in honour of National AccessAbility Week, from May 26 – June 1.

The Kamloops community has extended their efforts with AccessAbility Week and stretched it into a two-week InclusiABILITY event. Most days during the campaign, free events focused on movement, fitness and a healthy lifestyle. By participating in Kamloops’ InclusiABILITY event, you will help elevate awareness and foster inclusivity around accessibility for all.

While the majority of the events are free, donations will be collected by the Kamloops Bike Riders Association in an effort to raise money for the first-ever kids adaptive biking program. Proceeds from programs with a small admission fee will go directly to the adaptive bike fundraiser and the purchase of a new Bowhead Rouge adventure e-bike. The bike is designed to allow children with diverse abilities the opportunity to enjoy the fun of cycling through town and on the trails.

Efforts made from National AccessAbility Week and InclusABILITY will go towards helping children in similar situations to Jude Mitton, an 11-year-old boy from Kamloops who is living with the fatal diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
