Five employees from our Dawson Construction crushing division attended an educational course last week at Port Kells Crushing School in Surrey, B.C., which focused on maintenance and repairs of their crushing equipment.
Over the two-day program, our crushers learned how to take Cone Crushers apart, take measurements, spot errors in the metal and replace any worn out parts. They also learned how each internal piece of a crusher works, how to perform liner changes and diagnose any internal issues on the Cone Crushers, worked with the different cone sizes and the hydraulic and electrical components for each piece and how to rebuild the crushers if any issues arise. This new skillset can save the company time and money when it comes to preventative maintenance and mitigating break downs in the field.
Back home now, our crushers are looking forward to taking the knowledge they learned into the pit ahead of a busy paving season.
