Reg Watson can’t get enough International Trucks in his life.
Since he bought his first truck from our Vernon location in 1985, an International 9300, he has been a life-long fan of the product.
“I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy everything about the truck all these years. The dealership has been great, the sales team is easy to work with, the service team has been exceptional and the parts have always been very affordable and available. But most importantly, the trucks have always been awesome to work with,” said Watson.
For many years, Watson owned and operated four different trucking companies, purchasing 35 new and pre-owned International Trucks for various purposes. The last one he acquired in 2013 was an International 5900 Tri-Drive.
Even into his retirement years, he still can’t pull himself away from International Trucks. He still finds use for them around his property or for a small job on the side, to keep himself busy.
Recently, he has been restoring a 1964 International Harvester, a copper and black International Truck with a trailer on it.
“I bought the 1964 International Harvester 32 years ago and it sat on my property all this time. People would come up to me, comment on it or ask me about it. It wasn’t until these last few years that we finally began working on it,” said Watson.
Now with more free time, Watson and the occasional shop partner began tinkering away at the Harvester, building it back up from its original frame.
After a year and a half of restoration, Watson’s latest International project is complete. Instead of using it for logging or hauling equipment around, Watson proudly takes it on the road, displaying it at shows and educating crowds about the International Trucks brand.
