It wasn’t just another day on the job for Dawson Construction and DCM Transport on Thursday. Nine volunteers spent the day at the Kamloops BC Wildlife Park, volunteering their time and equipment to help with the park’s much needed walkway repairs.
To ensure safe passage for visitors – especially for those in wheel chairs or with baby strollers – crews paved a few large patches and used all leftover mix throughout the park to fill pot holes and areas where water was pooling.
Crews also spent some time talking with park staff, were invited to take a walk around the park and visit the animals and were invited back for the park’s annual Wildlights Festival!
The BC Wildlife Park is a not for profit society dedicated to conservation, wildlife rehabilitation and education. To learn more about the park and how you can help, visit their website. You can also follow them on Facebook or Twitter.
